Bane of the Undead and Shadow
The Orb of Light is a +2 holy symbol with the following properties and powers.
Implement (Holy Symbol)
Enhancement: +2 attack rolls and damage rolls
Critical: +2d6 radiant damage
Property: You can speak and understand Supernal and read the Supernal script.
Property: Against undead creatures, you deal +2d10 radiant damage on a critical hit rather than +2d6.
Power (Encounter): Standard Action. You can use Turn Undead (cleric class feature).
Power (Encounter): Standard Action. You can use Radiant Smite (paladin 1).
Power (Daily • Implement): Standard Action. You can make an attack against each undead creature within 10 squares, using Wisdom vs. Will. On a hit, pull the target 8 squares.
The following additional abilities have been revealed as Eben’s concordance with the Orb has grown:
Property: You gain a +1 bonus to all defenses against undead creatures.
Power (Daily): Standard Action. You can use Searing Light (Cleric 7)
Power (Encounter): Immediate Interrupt. When an ally within 5 squares of you is hit by an attack from an undead creature, you may use Shielding Word (cleric 10)
The Orb of Light is a powerful artifact recovered from the Midion Temple by the party in their effort to cure Lady Blackthorne from the necromantic curse laid upon her by the cult know as the Withered Hand. When given to Eben, it was discovered to be a focus of the god Amaunator, converting Eben to his service from a minor diety.
Later evidence indicated that the artifact not only was a weapon against the undead, but against creatures of shadow as well, and the key to defeating the ancient black dragon Quetzallus. Used to tip an arrow shot from the intelligent longbow Shockwave, the mighty beast was slain. Having fulfilled its purpose, the Orb has left Eben’s care but imbued the cleric with some permanent abilities as reward for his stewardship.
